5/23/2017 12:00:00 AM (7 years ago)

iCOMBAT Chicago West’s Grand Opening weekend was a success! Thank you to everyone that came out to support us. If you couldn’t make it, here’s what you missed...

iCOMBAT sanctioned by Mayor Nick Caiafa

We’re very proud to have had the Schiller Park Mayor, Nick Caiafa present on Friday, May, 19th to officially welcome us to Schiller Park. He shared some kinds words with us before counting down the ribbon cutting:

“We’re a family community and we think you’re going to be a great fit…” said Caiafa, “this ribbon cutting means that you’re open for business and we’re very excited about this venue…”

Village Hall Trustees and Chamber by O’Hare members were gracious enough to join us for the ceremony. We had the pleasure of taking them on tours of Alcatraz that inspired an impromptu session. The game was well-received, members had said that they had a blast and can’t wait to come back to play again.

Alcatraz had its first public sessions

iCOMBAT Chicago West officially opened its doors to the public May 20th and 21st.

It was a sea of chaos in the lobby as players signed up at the kiosks to be the first on the Alcatraz field. Each session was packed with eager players, some playing multiple sessions in a row.

Veteran and new players were introduced to our new equipment: plate carrier style vest and irSMG weapon with automatic reloading capabilities.

Some of the missions that players took part in were Black Hawk Down, Whack-A-Mole, Juggernaut, Jailbreak and Team Deathmatch.

After each session, players got to relax and enjoy some free pizza provided by Bacci’s Pizzeria. Overall, the weekend was a hit with Illinois. If you’d like to come and check out the new field for yourself, public sessions take place Thursday-Sunday.
